It depends on four things: how many windows you have, one story or two, inside and out or exterior only, and whether there are hard water spots. Call (949) 203-0880, answer those four questions, and you get a free quote in a few minutes. You hear the full price before any work starts. Our pricing page explains what goes into it.

You’re paying for skilled labor, working safely at heights, proper equipment, and the time it takes to do screens, tracks and sills, not just glass.

For most San Clemente homes, yes, especially with second-story windows or near the coast. Tap water leaves spots, and mineral buildup left for years can etch glass.

Yes. Skipping interior glass takes less time and costs less.

It’s optional. Tipping isn’t expected the way it is at a restaurant, but many people show thanks for a great job with a tip or a kind review.

What’s Included

→ Residential window cleaning

You can book inside and out, or exterior only. Interior cleaning needs someone to let the cleaner in.

A full clean should include screens, tracks and sills. Some companies charge extra, so confirm before you book. See screen and track cleaning.

In San Clemente, people use both terms for the same service. What matters is what’s included.

Many rinse with purified (deionized) water, which has the minerals removed, so it dries without leaving spots.

Hard Water, Salt and Streaks

→ Hard water stain removal

Light and moderate buildup usually can. Spots that have etched into the glass over years may only partly improve.

Tap water and leftover cleaner dry on the glass. Minerals and residue show up as streaks, especially in direct sun.

Both are fine for light dirt. Neither usually removes months of sprinkler spots or salt film, and rinsing with the hose afterward adds new spots.

Salt in the ocean air settles on glass, and the marine layer keeps it damp so dust sticks. Ocean-facing glass dulls fastest.

That usually means the seal on a double-pane window has failed. Cleaning won’t fix it; a window glass repair company can. See condensation between window panes for how to tell and what fixes it.

It’s not recommended. High-pressure water can damage seals and frames.

Scheduling and Access

→ Recurring window cleaning

Most homes every 3 to 6 months. Ocean-facing homes usually need it more often; storefronts often go weekly or every two weeks.

Late winter and spring are the busiest, followed by late summer after the marine layer season. Also after Santa Ana winds or before the holidays.

Not for exterior-only cleaning, as long as the cleaner can reach the windows and gates. Interior cleaning needs access.

Anywhere from under an hour to a few hours, depending on the size of the home, number of windows and how much buildup there is.

Light rain usually doesn’t ruin a clean window. Rain itself is fairly clean; streaks mostly come from dirt that splashes onto the glass.

Yes. Mention your pets when you call so gates and doors can be handled carefully.

Trust and After the Clean

→ Service areas

Ask what’s included (screens, tracks, sills), how they reach high glass, what they rinse with, how they protect Low-E and tempered glass, and what happens if something is missed.

It shouldn’t when done carefully. Coated and tempered glass scratch more easily, so ask how they’re handled and have existing scratches noted before work starts.

Walk through the windows together in daylight before the cleaner leaves, and point out anything that needs another pass.

Yes. It’s a reasonable question for any service that works on your home, and businesses often need a certificate for their landlord.
